MAST's shipping department focuses on the protection of maritime assets including ships and offshore platforms. Key to these activities is the partnership with our clients and the training of client staff to form an integral part of the assets protection team. We are strategically located with offices in both Djibouti, Oman (Salalah and Muscat), Sri Lanka and South Africa to respond swiftly and effectively to any request for support.

We currently work with over 60 shipping company clients, with projects ranging from protection of seismic survey vessels, specialist tug and tows as well as various ship types including VLCCs and chemical tankers.

MAST has handled and responded to several attacks by pirates and thwarted their attempts to board ships and other vessels.

The company also provides a contingency response service and its lead negotiator has handled 11 hijack negotiations on behalf of shipping companies and insurers.
